3. guest lecturer heather mekkelson talks about her work, a very elegant form of appropriation
4. watch a surprise movie that is an epic plunge into filmic appropriation
there is a wealth of existing content in culture that requires us to be deft editors. editing is the new brushstroke. facebook is a vessel of infinite paint splatters. even if you're traditional artistic practice is dominated by creating original content, the muscle of editing content at a high level is de rigueur for any original content creation.
your assignment: show us work that adds significant meaning to existing cultural content...
